Soft Boy Muziq – Singer & Songwriter

What Inspired you to create this EP ?

The inspiration came from my diverse ability to do any genre that sounds good to my ear. I’m not limited to Afrobeat or HipHop. My uniqueness to fit into any genre is something I’m proud of. I call myself the new force, the new energy and the new style. I worked with 7 emerging Artistes who are unique with different styles and energies. We created my debut EP called “The New Testament”.

How would you describe the sound and style of this EP ?

I’d call this EP a Multi-Afro genre because it consists of 7 songs which comes from different sections of Afrobeat. Therefore, it’s not just about promoting my EP, I’m promoting the Afrobeat genre, Ghanaian culture and Africa at large.

Are there any Personal Experiences or stories that influenced the lyrics on the EP ?

Yes! the last song “U DON’T KNOW ME” speaks a lot about my personal life. Some folks think they know me through my lifestyle on social media. However, they only know what I want them to know about me.

Can you share any challenges you faced whilst recording this EP ?

Getting 7 Artistes on this Album as an independent artiste wasn’t easy. They have their own projects to accomplish, and it takes a lot of efforts to adjust their time to create a piece with you. The fastest project took 6 weeks whilst the longest took 4 months to be completed. Therefore, it took an entire year to bring the Album to life.

What are your expectations for how this EP will be received, and what’s next for you as an artist ?

I think this EP is a test to acquire some experience, to know how people would receive my body of work. After analyzing everything, I’d be back again with a “Rebirth”.

How has your music evolved over time, and how does this EP reflect that growth ?

I’ve learnt a lot since the EP was released. Proud to say, I’m doing better each and every time. With hard work and determination, I’d reach where I dream to be soon.
